Name: Emory Crenshaw Hometown: Montgomery, AL Class year: AS400, Senior Major: Business Management with a concentration in Health Care Analytics Desired Career Field: Combat Systems Officer Extracurricular Activities/Sports/Hobbies: Hanging out with friends and watching Alabama Football Something unique about myself: My twin brother and I both grew up wanting to serve our local community and be a force of change. He chose to become a police officer and I chose the Air Force. Favorite thing about being in AFROTC: The sense of brotherhood/sisterhood found in the Cadet Corps is hard to find anywhere else. I know that the same people I’m working with now will have my back for a lifetime. Most challenging part of being in AFROTC: Time management is something that I struggled with initially. It took me about 2 years to find a good system that works for me. What leadership opportunities have you been given as a cadet in AFROTC? I previously have been the Community Service Officer and was an FTP Flight Commander. Currently I am the Operations Group Commander. What advice would you give a student thinking about becoming a cadet? Give it a shot. Even if you choose not to stay in the program until the end, the leadership lessons learned can be applied anywhere in life. Det/CC: It has been very rewarding to see Cadet Crenshaw grow as a person and leader. He has also taken on several leadership development opportunities, such organizing a fundraiser to benefit deployed military members and shadowing the Holm Center Commander, Brig Gen Maher, this past summer. His professionalism and perseverance is admirable and sets the standard for others to emulate. Comments are closed.
