Congratulations to our cadets who just graduated from Marion Military Institute's Aim High Flight Academy! During this three week-long training, our students attended ground school and accomplished flight hours with a civilian flight instructor, ultimately culminating in solo flight. The Commander was invited down to speak to all graduates of the flight academy, and show support for our excellent cadets who put in the work to get flight time that will help them compete in the future to be Air Force pilots.
Special thanks to the Air Force Recruiting Service for paying all fees and room and board for our students during this training! It's about time for Det 010 to say goodbye to our own Captain Aaron Clinton-Earl, who is moving to Washington D.C. for his next assignment as a Logistics Officer for Big Air Force. Best wishes from all of us here, and thank you for the tremendous work you've put in to our students, building leaders of quality for tomorrow's Air Force and Space Force. It was a privilege to serve with you here. Your passion and drive have left a legacy that won't be forgotten any time soon!
Congratulations from Det 010 to Cadet Lindmark for his essay, which won him the Gathering of Eagles scholarship award. Keep Aiming High Cadet Lindmark!

While our 10 new LTs are moving on to their next assignments, Det 010 is pressing on with our never-ending mission to identify and recruit high quality candidates for the USAF and SF. Congratulations to our most recent Commander's High School Scholarship recipient!! She will also be receiving a highly competitive Room and Board supplemental scholarship from the Detachment, reflecting the high esteem we hold her in and the great things the Det can do for our high performing cadets!
Det 10 had the honor of commissioning 10 new Lieutenants for the United States Air Force last Sunday, the 7th. While the golden bars may not look like much, they represent the weight of the awesome responsibility entrusted to these young officers, and the trust vested and faith placed in our graduates by the American people. These Lieutenants are joining the long line of UA's military heritage: As long as there has been an Air Force, Detachment 10 has been providing officers.
Congratulations graduates, and welcome to Big Blue, Lieutenants! Special thanks to Det 10 alum, Major General Harris, for performing the role of our guest speaker for this event. Here at Det 10, we like to highlight our cadet's academic and military performance to showcase their excellence. On paper, this program is a 5 hour a week commitment, but that number doesn't come close to showing how much more involved students can be and the opportunities that involvement in the program gives cadets as people, students, and future officers. Our cadets leverage their free time by finding ways to hang out with one another, setting up extracurricular events like hiking and camping, rock climbing, skydiving, and movie nights. AFROTC is as much about the friends you make as it is about military training!
Select Det 10 cadets had a competitive opportunity to visit Keesler AFB, MS, to learn more about different career paths available to them as Air Force officers. Special shoutout to Captain Eboni Simpson, a Nuclear and Missile Operations officer!
Yesterday, Det 10 hosted Master Instructors from Maxwell AFB's Combatives program. Thanks to the special "Life Combatives" pioneering program the instructors brought to us, cadets learned important leadership fundamentals for their future officer careers, and had a chance to wrestle the Commander as well!
Det 10 cadets joined their crosstown wingmen at Marion Military Institute in historic Marion, AL, to learn more about the role MMI plays as a prep school for the Service Academies and the many other extracurricular opportunities available to MMI cadets. After watching MMI cadets Pass In Review as part of the dedication ceremony for their schools new guard house, Det 10 cadets accomplished MMI’s obstacle course as well as several leadership and organization puzzles. Another Leadership Laboratory for the books!
